Jewellery Designer and sole director, Mrs Gen-Lin Shen has nearly 20 years’ experience in fine and fashion jewellery design and development. The jewellery designs themselves are each created by Gen-Lin. Once each design is complete each is passed to Gen-Lin’s experienced team who support her ideas and turn them into a reality for our amazing customers.
Long ago, a gift of a gemstone changed Gen-Lin’s life. Genlin became inspired and fascinated by its natural beauty, which eventually led her to become a successful Jewellery Designer.
Gen-Lin Shen started her career working as a Sales and Marketing Manager for a global IT company in Taiwan and also owns a successful trading company.
Designing jewellery has always been her utmost passion, from designing her very first jewellery design case to creating custom jewellery pieces for family and friends over the years.
To share her passion for design and jewellery, Gen-Lin decided to realise her dream and launch her own jewellery boutique, for jewellery that is affordable, unique and fashionable.
Gen-Lin says: ”I didn’t study professional jewellery design when I was a student, because my parents were worried that I would not be able to generate enough income to feed myself with jewellery design. So, first I followed my parents’ advice to finish my degree and I was then able to secure a marketing role within a large IT company. It was a good job but did not provide the creative fulfilment I longed for and I was no closer to my dream.
After I met my husband I continued to work hard, also accompanying him on business trips across the world in support of his own business, this was especially fascinating for me and culture was to become a big influence in my designs. Eventually, I had saved enough money to be able to undertake professional jewellery design studies, so with the support and encouragement of my husband, this is exactly what I did.”
Even with jewellery design training, the journey has not been without its challenges, however, Genlin says that this all helps the creative process and that she has always sought that which is enjoyable and inspirational from every situation.
As for where the jewellery designs spring from, Genlin is inspired by the many different cultures and places she has encountered on her travels, the natural world, and the love she has for her family.
Gen-Lins’ ideas are inspired by precious moments in her own life as well as inspiration drawn from the lives of her clients over the years, especially for custom jewellery designs.
